Nigerian petroleum minister, Diezani Allison Madueke is first female president of OPEC

www.vibeink.netNigeria's petroleum minister resources, Diezani Allison - Madueke  has been appointed as the first female president of The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC.She was appointed during the 166th ordinary meeting ofOPEC held in Vienna, Austria.


 She took over from the former President of the organization, Libya's vice prime minister for corporations,Abdourhman Atahar Al Ahirish.Her first tenure will last for one year. She has before now been the alternate president of the organization but she now takes over fully.



It is expected that OPEC will take decisions that will increase the price of oil.

Mrs Diezani Alison Madueke was born in Nigeria on the 6th of December 1960.She first became a minister in 2007.She was the minister for Transportation. In 2008, she became the federal minister for mine and steel development and in 2010, she became the minister of Petroleum resources. She is still the minister.
