4 Nigerian billionaires you didn't know were billionaires.

Nigeria is a country abounded with wealth, and where there are riches, you find billionaires. But there are some people in the society who we didn't know were billionaires. Here are 4 of them in no particular order.


 Chief Ade Ojo - Elizade Motors Nigeria Limited

Born on June 14, 1938, Chief Ade Ojo was part of the first graduating set of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.He graduated in 1965 with a degree in Business Administration.

He left the university to co - found Elizade Industry Agencies with his late wife.The name, Elizade is culled from the first four words of his late wife's name, Elizabeth and his first name, Ade.The company was found in 1975.

Over the years, Elizade Nig Ltd has grown to become one of Nigeria's leading companies. They are the sole distributors of Toyota cars in Nigeria and have seven subsidiary companies under them.

Chief Ade Ojo is also currently building a private polytechnic in Ilara Mokin to help invest in the youth.







Jim Ovia - Banking and Communications

Jim Ovia is the co - founder of Zenith Bank and functioned as the bank's General Managing Director(GMD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for 10 years.

He is the highest single shareholder of the bank with a 9.3% stake. He also became once again the chairman in July, 2014.

Jim Via is also the founder of Visafone telecommunications and in August 2014, started constructing a 1.5 billion dollars company. He is a recipient of the national award, member of the order of the federal republic, MFR.







Chief Raymond Dokpesi - Daar Communications PLC.

He was born in the South west state of Oyo  in Ibadan precisely on the 25th of October, 1951.He is the founder of Daar communications plc who are owners of the pioneer radio station and the first 24 hours private TV station and other enterprises

They also have a satellite TV .AIT is the foremost African TV station to broadcast in and from the United States of America.

Pascal Dozie - MTN/Diamond Bank

Is from Imo state, Nigeria and was born in April 9, 1939. He established Diamond bank in 1991.The bank has grown to be one of the best in Nigeria. He also pioneered Electronic money transfer to enable safer transfer of money and easier financial transactions .

Breakthrough came for Pascal Dozie though when he partnered with leading South African telecommunications company to bring MTN to Nigeria.

He is the chairman of MTN.He also founded Nigeria's first private equity fund managing company.
